Well-Being Solutions for Life

Unlocking the Genius Within: Working with students, pupils and young people

Being a student or pupil at school, college or university carries with it its own unique pressures. Many young people end up succumbing to this pressure which sometimes creates stress that may impede academic progress and achievement and may (if not checked) prevent them from enjoying the learning environment and the process.

With the guidance provided by the Three Principles Training a young person can not only excel in the learning environment and enjoy the process but end up becoming more self-confident, open minded and positively communicative. This in turn sometimes leads to the emergence of creativity, productivity, and a broad inquisitiveness – all qualities that will serve a young person for life.

Parents and carers invariably wish the best for their children and will often go to great lengths to make sure that the best possible conditions are created in order to assist them in achieving their academic goals. This is sometimes made difficult by the fact that young people often experience mood changes which sometimes lead to behaviour that is detrimental to their personal progress.

The Three Principles Programme assists in guiding young people through the rough waters of youth and the teenage years towards a more balanced happy and productive state of being.

Some of the things young people might attend sessions for:

  • Academic tutoring and mentoring (how to study more effectively)
  • Self confidence/self esteem
  • Exam preparation
  • Overcoming learning differences & behavioural difficulties
  • Effective concentration
  • Letting go of shyness
  • Unlocking the genius within

‘It doesn’t really matter what my past was, it only matters that I was letting the ‘how comes’, ‘what if’s and ‘why me’s have control in my life. For so long, I had been searching with my mum for a way to overcome and forgive events in the past to no avail. Writing and talking about my problems got us nowhere. I think I honestly thought that one day, someone or something would come along and wave a magic wand and make it all go away. I didn’t realise that at the end of the day, I was the only one who could change things. Then, in the world’s mysterious ways a man and his wife were coming to Australia to give a talk on ‘Happiness’ at a health group my mum organizes. I got a phone call from my mum, saying they had arrived; she was bringing them to our farm to pick me up and then take me back to Melbourne where I could hear their talk. I was truly glad because somewhere inside me I knew this was supposed to be.’

- Jessica Eikenberg, 16 years old as of the 10-8-11
